Paste a website or a GitHub repo. We look for the earliest record someone else made of it, and tell you if it predates ChatGPT going public on 30 November 2022.

How it works
- Websites: we ask the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine for its earliest saved copy of the address. That copy was recorded by a third party, so nobody can backdate it.
- GitHub repos: we read the date GitHub recorded when the repository was created.
- An early record proves the page or repo existed before the cutoff. It doesn't prove every file in it is human-made: content can change after the first record. That's why STEEL validators check several independent signals before they sign for a dataset.
